Too Much Fun

Saturday night, the Moss' came over for supper and to play. Katie Lee had been waiting for this all week and was so excited. Bless her heart she hasn't had friends over in a long time to play with so this was a BIG deal. All day she made preparations for her night.

She made cupcakes.

Set her table. She also decided that she would just share her highchair with Abby since she was a baby.

She also "cleaned" the toys in her room. It was more of a mess than cleaning but she had fun and kept her busy for a long time.

They finally arrived and the girls had a ball!

They decided they would just spend the night together. That lasted about 2 minutes. HA

What A Great Way to Spend A Snow Day!

Well the month of January has flown by. I have only worked one full week of January due to the weather and MLK birthday. I would LOVE to work 3 or 4 days a week so this has been nice. Remind me of how much I enjoyed it when I am making these days up in May. Anyway, Friday we got out at 11:00. Boy was 10:30-11:00 crazy at school. Our poor kids had to eat so fast and then get on the bus, I just knew someone would be sick. I got to leave at 11:30 and got to Mother's around 12:30. ( My drive usually takes 20 minutes. )

We had already planned on going there for supper and to play cards with Kathryn and Zeb, so we spent the entire afternoon and night with them.

Mother had gotten Katie Lee a new piano. She and Poppie practiced all day for their concert debut. It was something to see and hear. :)

What A Surprise

it was picking Katie Lee up this afternoon and looking over to see our home going up!! I really did not think that they would even work over there today, but they ended up getting a lot done. I know we still have a LONG way to go. James told me today that we needed to pick out our doors and windows this weekend. We also have to get brick and check on the showers. Things are moving and I just hope that it will not rain too much the spring so they can keep right along moving. Maybe we can be in sooner than I think!!!

Foodie Friday

Today I am joining Foodie Friday over at Designs By Gollum. Last night we had our monthly Girls' Night Out at Amanda's. We each brought a favorite finger food and everything was wonderful. One of the foods that I took was Brown Sugar Fruit Dip with apples. It is super easy to make.

Brown Sugar Fruit Dip
1 (8oz) package of cream cheese
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1t vanilla
Mix all together and chill for about an hour. Serve with fresh fruits.

I Love a Long Weekend

This has been one of those great long weekends with no major plans and it was wonderful! Saturday we spent the day at home and then went to Pulaski to Legend's for supper and then to Wal-Mart. If you've never eaten at Legend's I highly recommend it. I have never gotten anything bad. We rarely go to Pulaski but I really LOVE the Wal-Mart. It is always super clean and never busy. We just walked around and looked at everything. It was nice taking our time and not rushing through. (The pouring down rain outside wasn't great as we unloaded our groceries.)
Sunday after church, we came back home and just played with Katie Lee. After church Sunday night, Kathryn had fixed up a wonderful breakfast for super. She is an awesome cook.
Today, Katie Lee and I stayed home. It was such a beautiful day! We played outside for a long while this afternoon.

Don't you just love the outfit! HA

We have decided on a brick for our new home. This is what we are going for. Isn't this a pretty home. We found it in Madison as we were looking at some other bricks. I knew this was exactly what I wanted as soon as I saw it.

View from Our Backyard

Today is one of those rainy days where it is just good to stay home. Well, that is just what we've done today. Donnie and I worked all morning cleaning while Katie Lee played and spread her toys back all over the living room floor. As I was going through some pictures, I found some from last week's snow. I thought that they turned out pretty. I love the snow the day or two when it is here but then as soon as it leaves, I am ready for spring!!

This is the Rails to Trails walking path. As you can tell most of the snow was gone by the time this one was taken but I think the trees look pretty.I did not realize how close it really is in our back yard. This use to be an old train track. It has now been made into several miles of walking, biking, and horse trails that runs from Veto to Piney Chapel. I have been told that supposedly there are lost treasures from the Civil War back there. Could be true since the war came right through here with several battles at Sulpher Creek led by Gen N.B. Forrest. It really looked beautiful from our backdoor the other day as the snow was falling on it. I am sure that it will look just as lovely in the spring as the dogwood trees bloom.

Show Us Your Life

Today, I am joining Kelly from Kelly's Korner. This week's topic is diet and weight loss programs and ideas. For as long as I can remember, this has been one of those new year's resolutions for me. GET RID OF 10 LBS. No matter what size and weight I seem to be when the new year rolls around, I join in with the masses that want to get healthier in the new year. This year is no different. I also have this cute little black skirt that I got at Banana Republic back at the end of summer for this winter. It is VERY tight and I cannot wear it without fear of popping out of it. My goal is to wear it on Valentine's Day. No, we don't have any romantic plans, but it is on a Sunday so I will be wearing a skirt that morning to church so that is a good day to set for me.

Last year at this time, I was right in the middle of doing WW at work. I was doing great, did not gain any over Christmas, and made Life Time in the spring. Well, if you follow the program correctly, you should continue going monthly to weigh in and keep in check so your weight does not crawl back up. I made the HUGE mistakes of stopping going because I could "Do IT MYSELF." HA!!! WW by far is the best life change program out there, I think. Well, I am getting back into the counting points again and following the WW plan. I know if I do this those 10 lbs will come off.

The next huge helper for me is weighing. I know that your not supposed to weigh daily, but for me it helps. If helps me be more conscience of what and how much I put in my mouth each day. I stopped weighing when we moved back in October and continued until Christmas. I added few pounds during this time period so I knew that I had to get back on my weighing daily. I also record my weight once a week to help keep truer weigh loss. I also measure to see if I if I am loosing inches. Today was my first measure and it was GROSS!!! I have a LONG ways to go.

I have also found that the more water I make myself drink a day, the better. I want to drink about 4 bottles of water a day. Right now I can only get about 2. I just have to force myself.

In addition to watching what I eat, I am going to try to exercise. I haven't exercised in YEARS. When we were going through all that we did to get pregnant, I completely did not exercise. Then being high risk, I could not get very active. Then having a baby and being busy.......The excuses go on and on. Basically I HATE to exercise. Well, a group of teachers that I work with have all decided that we would start exercising at least 3 days after school. This week, we did it 4 times!!! I think that as long as I have someone to do it with me I can do.

This week we did this. I could not believe how sore I was by the third day, but today I am feeling really good.

I hope to do this some too.

After spring break, we hope to start this

Who knows, we may even do this Memorial Weekend!

Snow Day #2

Most of our day was spent playing

tea party

and a little bit of time outside. It is just so cold a few minutes was plenty.

Mostly, we have just tried to stay warm.

ROLL TIDE

Ok I am not one of those girls that can sit and watch an entire football game even if I really want that team to win, but I am one of those girls that likes to watch the last 3 minutes of the game to see how it ends. The last few minutes are enough for me. The last few minutes were great last night! ROLL TIDE ROLL. Katie Lee came running through a couple of time saying ROLL TIDE and even my Tennessee loving husband was pretty proud to give a ROLL TIDE too. Enjoy the win.
