Monday Made It

Today I am joining Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for another Monday Made it. I cannot believe that June is over. I start back to work a month from today!!! This weeks Made It Monday is very small because I spent last week in Destin on the beach making memories for my little family. Donnie and I had so much fun watching and playing with our two little ones. We had the best vacation.
Now on to my made it.  I painted a new summer door hanger for my front door.   I love how it looks like summertime.

Let's Experiment

Our field behind the house has not been cut this summer yet so it is full of wildflowers. We have picked lots of Black-eyed Susan and daisies. Katie Lee picked some queen anne's lace and we decided to do a little "experiment" with it.

All good scientist have to have a journal to log their results.
Katie Lee wrote all about how she did her experiment.

She also made predictions on how long she thought that it would take for the flowers to change colors.

We added food coloring to 4 different cups and placed a flower in each.  Daniel joined us for the fun.

I forgot to get a picture of the next day but all of the flowers had turned over night.  Her "experiment" was a success!!

Kiddie Carnival

Sunday night after church we headed to the Kiddie Carnival in town. The littles could not wait to play.

Daniel loved riding the cars.  I think he would have rode those all night.

Langdon was happy just watching others and tending the gates.
Katie Lee was so busy playing with her friends, she had no time for pictures.

Daniel said he was hungry when we left so he ate the left overs.

Katie Lee was all smiles after her fun night with friends.

Father's Day

I did a terrible job taking pictures at Mother's day and then again on Father's day. We celebrated Father's day Saturday night. We had grilled steak and vegetables along with baked potato, salad, and bread.

I did get a picture of the table as soon as I set it.  I loved how it just looked like summer time.  I think I will change a few things and use it for the 4th of July, too.

Katie Lee helped by picking the wild black eyed susan in the field behind the house.

Cookies with Katie Lee

Katie Lee recently made cookies. Lemon cookies which she loves, and so do I.

We happened to have some frosting in the cabinet that she added to the cookies along with sprinkles of course.

After they cooled, we packed up a few and she made a special note for Stephanie and Scott thanking them for taking her to VBS at church where they attend.  She loved going with them all week and then the next week went to the one at our church.

Monday Made It

Today I am joining 4th Grade Frolics' Monday Made It.  I love checking out what everyone has made over the last week.  Our summer is going by way too fast and we start back earlier next school (July31st), so I am trying to enjoy every bit of it with my little ones.

This will be the first year in 15 years that I will not have a 4th grade class to set up.  I am super excited about my new position as a Math Coach.  It will be a big change for me because I will be working with K-3 teachers and students. I will be sharing a room with the Instructional Coach so I am not sure how the room will be set up, but I will work on that when I find out. In the mean time just a few things that I know I can use.

My first made it is covering my boring clipboards.  I have a set that I used in my class over the last few years.  They were not looking too good because of lots of use. I decided that I would make them cuter since I would only be working with small groups in my room at a time.  I covered them with some cute duct tape.  I was hoping to get three boards covered with one roll.  The 5.9 yards only covered one and half of them.  I hope to cover six of my boards before school starts.

I got a hutch back a while ago at a local thrift store.  I had been looking for one for the longest.

I made my own chalk paint thanks to a recipe I found on pinterest and
painted it a mustard yellow color for my kitchen.  The lighting is not very good in the this picture.  I love how it turned out.

Puddle Jumping Kind of Day

It has rained a lot today which makes for lots of fun puddles. Katie Lee went to VBS with Stephanie today and Daniel and I decided to play outside a little.

Daniel started out jumping in the little puddles in the drive.  He thought he was something.

Then I decided that he needed to play in some real puddles.  Water always stands in the yard between Mother and Daddy's house and Jane and Gary's.  Over the years, we have all played in this water, so now was Daniels turn.  He thought this was the greatest thing ever.

I just knew that he would slip and fall in it but he never did.

Thought he might just sit down, but he didn't.

He just ran and jumped.  Every so often he would stop so the water in his boots could be dumped out.

Sometimes he just needed to dance in the rain.

We may be back to jump some more tomorrow so Katie Lee can play too.

Potty Training Boot Camp

Today is a big day for one little boy--Potty Training Boot Camp!!

I set up potty training central in the hall bathroom because it is closest to get to.  I set his little potty chair, had a sticker chart, prizes, timer, and BIG BOY UNDERWEAR!!  For a special treat a super hero tshirt.  For the first day, he had only 4 accidents and made it 23 times.  I thought that was really good.   Tomorrow is another day!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had an action packed weekend.  Donnie got a new toy that they are all loving.
That weekend also was decoration day where Donnie's parents are.  It was nice to have the little ones there for Donnie.

Love this sweet picture of Daniel standing on the service rock for Donnie's daddy.

Katie Lee wanted to add a few flowers.
Later that afternoon and the rest of the weekend, we spent lots of time playing outside.

We had lots of yummy food with family and friends.

Cruisin' with his friend.
