While Mommy and Daddy are away...

Katie Lee will play....
with Grammie and Poppie that is. Friday night while we had date night, Katie Lee stayed with Grammie and Poppie. They had to go over to Price's to take care of the yard work. While Poppie cut grass, Katie Lee played. They also took a ride with Price on his golf cart to see Hoo Hoo (Mr. Hoover). After Poppie finished cutting grass, they played in the creek. Sounds like Katie Lee had lots of fun on her night out.

Just one more time please...

Today's Post is Brought to You by the Letter

K
for
Kendall and Kinsley.

Today, Katie Lee was lucky enough to be invited to 2 different birthday parties.

The first was for Kendall's first birthday.
Boy, did Kendall love her cake!

The second party was for Kinsley's 2nd birthday.

Somehow in all of the fun, I missed getting a picture of the birthday girl. :(

Fun in the pool.

Everyone watch me!!

One..two..three..

JUMP!!!

As parents we spend so much time teaching our kids to share. You think we over did it a little. :)

Date Night

Yesterday, Donnie and I had date day. We dropped Katie Lee off at Mother's around 9:00. Then we came back home for some house cleaning. Donnie worked all day on our much neglected garage. It looks so good. I think that we may be able to get 2 cars in it now. He has lots of tools, plus a huge lawn mower, a tiller, plus numerous other big things so a 2nd car usually gets left outside. Late that afternoon, we got ready and headed to Huntsville. We had 7:30 dinner reservations at the Melting Pot. I was so excited because both of the other times we had plans to go something would come up and the groups never got to go. Anyway, it was great. They sat us in the little cozy nook for two. We had a cheese fondue first which was wonderful (bread and cheese is always good). Next came the salad. Since Donnie doesn't eat salad I got to pick out two. One was a caprase and the other was Caesar. The caesar was the best. Then the entree was a medley of meats and vegetables. Finally the BEST part dessert!!! We got the cookies and cream pot. By far the dessert was the best. Who knew that three hours of dinner could be so fun!

Where You Live

Today I am participating in Where You Live Fridays over at Kelly's Korner. All summer she has featured rooms in your home. Today she is sharing Children's Birthday Parties. I thought that sounded like fun and I would share Katie Lee's birthday party. I cannot believe that it is all ready time to plan her 2nd birthday. Where does the time go? She is growing so fast.

Last year, I chose a pink and green theme (my favorite colors for a baby girl). We invited all of our family and lots of friends. I think about 50 people came. I decorated our back yard with lots of pink and green balloons, green table cloths, and pink lights. We had a cook out with all of the fixings.

The lady who made our wedding cake made Katie Lee's birthday cake. I used green and pink plates and napkins.

I had a special 1st birthday bib made from a lady that goes to church with us.

I will have Katie Lee's 2nd birthday party posted in August.

Time for Bed I said

Can you really sleep with too many critters? Katie Lee has got very fond of all of her critters and thinks that she needs to sleep with them all.
It all started with
DOG DOG ( I got for her hoping that it would help her sleep all night),
then came
Melmo (Elmo) (Dada came home with),
then
Mick Mick and Minnie (from Grammie and Poppie),
Pup Pup came along about a week ago,
and then this week she added
Pink Pink ( the cat) and Piglet.
She has also started adding all of them to her nightly prayer list.
Good Night All!!

Opry Mills

Boy, don't you miss Opry Land. The theme park. Growing up we went so many times. At least it turned into something that I love even more as an adult. A MALL!!
This week Donnie is off work. We are just spending lots of family time together. Yesterday, we headed to Opry Mills for a day of shopping and playing. While I shopped, Donnie and Katie Lee...

rode a horse

a car

a train

a yellow train to be exact

and came home with a Minnie Mouse t-shirt, a Piglet, and a Cat.

What a great day. I got some pretty good deals too.

Park Fun!

Sunday night, we went to Bethel, TN to church with some of Donnie's hunting buddies attend. After church we headed to eat and to the park. It poured down rain that afternoon but we decided to go anyway. Katie Lee had so much fun even if she was a little muddy.

Ready to play

Fell in the mud!!

We had to have a pit stop for a milkshake before heading home.

What a Busy Week!!!

Sunday, we started off our week with some of the family coming over for finger foods and homemade ice cream. We all had a great time visiting with everyone one. Except for the bugs outside. :(

Monday started out like a normal day with Katie Lee playing with a role of toilet paper. Unfortunately this simple day changed late that afternoon. We got a call from the assisted living place telling us that Virg. had fallen. Luckily, Mother was here so I left Katie Lee with her and headed to the hospital. Virg. fell and broke his hip. He had surgery on Tuesday. On Thursday I spent the day at the hospital with him. Today, he was able to move to rehab. We had wanted him to go to Health South, but he was not physically able to handle their rehab. He is in one here in town.Hopefully, he will be back to getting around soon and be able to return to Limestone Manner.
Katie Lee has had a great time spending it with Grammie, Aunt Kitty, and the Sutton's. Poor Mary Kaitlyn. I believe Katie Lee about wore her out on Tuesday. She wanted Mary Kaitlyn to do everything for her. Katie Lee also got a treat watching Mary Kaitlyn play volley ball.

On Wednesday, we met Paige and Kendall for lunch and some shopping. It was great and I hope that we can do it again soon.

Tonight, we met Brad, Laura, and James for supper at the Mexican restaurant on the square and then off to the Kiddie Carnival. The girls really liked it. We were not sure that either one of them would even ride anything. By far, the cars were their favorite. We had a wonderful time with them.
