Girl Scouts Trip

A few weeks ago Katie Lee and her GS friends headed to Nashville for a visit to Belle Meade Plantation. It was a great day. For July in the south, the weather was WONDERFUL!! The girls were all so good and the plantation was beautiful.

4th of July Fun

A week... Here is how we celebrated the 4th.


We celebrated the 4th with supper at Mother and Daddy's.  Daniel was excited about his lemonade. 

Langdon settled for a few chips. 

Then it was on to some yummy watermelon. 

Katie Lee came in all her sparkle.  Check out the shoes.  We found those as we were cleaning out Virg's house to sell.  She LOVES these shoes and has worn them ALL THE TIME!!

I have been going through pictures and realized that I am never in the pictures at celebrations, so I am going to try and get someone to take my picture more often.

By the end of the night the boys were ready to settle down.  I asked what them what they were doing.  Langdon said, "Sitting with Uncle DonDon.  I love him."  Then he gives him a big kiss.  

(Side note:  Kathryn and Zeb were at home recovering from his recent surgery. We missed them a bunch.)

Swimming Lessons

Last week, Katie Lee took swimming lessons. She did amazingly well. I was very impressed with her teacher. She really helped Katie Lee a lot. I think it is safe to say that we have a real swimmer.  She learned how to swim free style, float on her back, glide, and backstroke.  She also jumped off in the deep end and swam across the pool

Best Part of Summer

is EVERYTHING!!!

I love spending days with Katie Lee and Daniel .  They are so much fun and help me enjoy the little things in life. 

We are loving our flower garden in the backyard.  Donnie did an outstanding job on it.  We still want to add some kind of architectural piece, but I haven't found what I want yet. 

Enjoy the lazy days of summer. 

Beach Vacation Part 4--Quest for a Great Picture

I love to get pretty beach pictures of the littles each year when we go. I was very excited this year because we did not go to the beach last year. I found Daniel's outfit and had it monogramed in a sand color and then ordered Katie Lee's dress to match.  Love how they turned out.  (Picture heavy because I could not narrow down anymore.) 

 

 

Someone had made a great sandcastle so I used it in a few pictures since that was as close to the water as Daniel would get.

Daniel is such a boy!! Love it. 

Luckily another family was coming back up and offered to take a picture of all of us.  I think after I edit the building out in the back, it will be a great one.
