As an elementary and a mother, I have lots of favorite books.
Here are a few of my favorites.
My mother gave this book to me several years ago. I was at least a teenager or maybe in my early 20's. It is super special to me.
This is one of our favorite night time books to read with Katie Lee. She has the entire book memorized.
Katie Lee's current favorite. I love the alliterations in it.
My all time favorite. A true classic. I read this to my kids every year. I usually cry before it is over.
My other favorite. I usually read this one to my class, too. Last year my whole class was sobbing when we finished. It really pulls at your heartstrings.
I love all Jan Brett books. She has beautiful pictures.

Ditto on the Jan Brett books, just beautiful! And I just read Love You Forever to my students (second grade) last week for Mother's Day and it's so hard not to get choked up every time I read it!
