Terrible picture, but we just could not get over these shoes. This was taken at institute for all of the schools on our side of the county. Really!! How much teaching or work can one really accomplish with shoes like this? Bless this young girls heart. Maybe she is new and just hasn't learned that this just will not work in the "real world of teaching."

End of Summer Vacation

Well, today ended my summer vacation. Where has the time gone? Katie Lee and I have spent the last two days playing and enjoying our time together. I am so going to miss her everyday when I am at work, but I know that she could not be in better hands. You would think by now it would be easier for me, but it isn't. We've spent a lot of time telling her daddy that I should just stay home. It hasn't worked. Anyway, I know that we will both be fine in a few days. She will be long before me. HA

Today we relaxed and enjoyed the heat poolside with Lillian and Amanda. The girls had a ball.

Birthday Party for Nikki

Yesterday, Katie Lee attended Nikki's third birthday party. I work with Nikki's mom. She had her party at Little Gym. This was a great little party place for little kids.

Happy August

August has become birthday month in our family. I am excited about all of the birthdays and birthday parties this month. Kathryn's birthday is on the 6th, Katie Lee's is on the 10th, Zeb's is on the 15th, and my daddy's is on the 19th. Daddy is turning 60, and we are planning a fun party for him. Stay turned to a month long celebration.
I made this cute party wreath with Dollar Tree finds and the balloons were on clearance at Kirklands. Pretty cute for less than $10.00.

Cool Summer Night

Since last night cooled off so much, we decided to take Katie Lee to the Kiddie Carnival. She simply LOVES riding the rides.

Summer Fun!

Since summer vacation is swiftly passing us by, Amanda and I thought that a day at Point Mallard with the girls would be fun. I have not been in YEARS (about 20)!! It was great. The weather was perfect and it was not too crowded. The girls had so much fun!! We may try to get in one more trip before summer is over.

It Was Bound To Happen

Katie Lee climbed out of her baby bed. Yes, I know she is almost 3 and I am sure that she could have for well over a year now if she wanted to bad enough, but she hadn't. Tonight was the night. Donnie had not gotten home yet and Katie Lee was super sleepy due to no nap today. I read her her story, prayed for everyone, got a drink of water, and then tucked her into bed. She did not want to go even though she was so sleepy. I had gone to take a bath and could hear her crying. I figured that she would stop and be a sleep in just a few minutes. Well, the next thing I know she is standing beside the bathtub with her sweetest of smiles. I asked her how she got out of bed and she just smiled and said ever so matter of fact, " I climbed out real carefully mommy." Trying to hide my laugh I had to get on to her and tell her how dangerous that was and how she should never do that again. I had really planned on her staying in the baby bed until we move just because there is not a lot of room for a big bed in this house, but I may have to break down and put a big girl bed up.
