The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
The day before Christmas break!! Oh, it is party day at school too. Today was the day. Katie Lee had her first school Christmas party. She was so excited!
Last Friday, I did a quick craft with her class during my PE time. I had big plans but with a 25 min. time, I had to do something quick. They made wreaths with fruit loops. They seemed to all like it. They worked hard on them and enjoyed eating the left overs.
I was not able to go down to her party today since it was at the same time my class was in my room. I did sneak down for a quick picture and left my camera with her teacher. She was nice enough to take pictures for me.
Her sweet class all dressed in their Santa hats.
Katie Lee came home ready to be Mrs. Claus.

Oh Christmas Tree
Today I am linking up with Kelly at Kelly's Korner for a Show Us Your Life Christmas. I am showing a few of our Christmas trees. I will add Daniel's and Katie Lee's trees later. Both of them were asleep when I took these pictures.
First up, our front door wreath. Of course, I got the idea from Pinterest. I found this mirror at a yard sale this summer for $2. It was a gold color and I sprayed it red. Tied a few Christmas balls and ribbon to it. I think it turned out cute and different than my usual wreath.
Next, is our tree in the kitchen. I think it is my favorite one! It only has a few big ornaments and lots and lots of ribbons and bows. Even Donnie who normally does not say anything told me it looked pretty.
I put up a slim line tree in the dining room with gold and burlap. Katie Lee made little birds that I sat in the trees.
Finally, our living room tree. I kept the ribbon super simple this year because I wanted the focus to be on the ornaments. I LOVE ornmaments so I collect them for every special occasion. Most of the ones on our tree have a story to go along with it.

Christmas Brunch
Saturday, my cousin, Paige, hosted an aunt and cousin brunch. It is always lots of fun to get together with these ladies. The food of course was wonderful, too. The little ones had lots of fun playing with their cousins. The weather was crazy warm for this time of year so we spent a good bit of time watching them play outside.

Nutcracker
For Christmas this year. Aunt Kitty gave Katie Lee tickets to the Nutcracker. She was so excited about this special day with "just the girls". Aunt Kitty also gave her a fancy dress to wear. She loved it and looked so pretty and grown up in it. I did not get a better picture. Katie Lee fell asleep before it was over so she was not wanting to take pictures when it was over and I woke her up. :)
She had to reenact it when we got home. She made tickets during supper for the family. She danced her heart out.
Thanks Aunt Kitty for the special day.

Little Red Wagon Part 3
Time for CaKe!! Daniel had the cutest little smash cake that coordinated with the big cake.
He had much needed help eating his cake from all the littles.
Time for gifts. He loved all of his gifts and has really liked playing with them since we got home.
The little ones released the balloons after the party.
Poppis and Grammie with the birthday boy!
Special thanks to Donnie, Katie Lee, Mother, Daddy, Kathryn, and Zeb for helping set up and take down the party. I think Daniel enjoyed his time even if he is too little to rememeber. :)

Little Red Wagon Party
Saturday we celebrated Daniel's first birthday with a Little Red Wagon Party. I was so pleased with how it all turned out. I have had pictures of what I wanted it to look like for months now. Thanks to my sister, Kathryn, for helping me set it all up and make it look really cute. I will share lots of pictures in the next few days.
Can't have a first birthday party without a smash cake and an adorable bib. My cousin, Laura, made the cakes and they were perfect. My friend, Carolee from The Peppermint Porch, made his cute bib.
The cake turned out perfect. I sent Laura my idea and she made it exactly like I have pictured. The wagon on top (which was not easy to find) will be a great keepsake for his first birthday.
The food and cake table was set with a white tablecloth and red and white polka dots. A blue and red pennant bordered the table.
I served BBQ sliders, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, and chips.
The cute little red wagon made for a adorable decoration for the table.
Here comes the birthday boy.

Little Celebration
Last Thursday, I brought cupcakes home for Daniel's birthday. The littles all loved it.
Sweet cousin and sister kisses for his birthday.
Later that night Grammie and Poppie came over with his gift, a rocking horse.
He loved it.
