December Daily--Day18--Mail

I love getting mail. It really doesn't matter what it is as long as it is not a bill, but this time of year is even more fun because there is always a Christmas card. Since we moved, we have a P.O. I don't always get the mail everyday like I would in the mailbox at the drive. Well this afternoon, Katie Lee and I headed to the post office. It was packed full of Christmas cards!! It was so fun looking at all of the cards from friends and family near and far.

December Daily--Day 17---It's a Start

Last weekend, Mr. Pitts moved off of our land which really let us see our new home site. A trailer has been in that spot for as long as I can remember and he had been there for the last 14 years. James and crew staked off our house. It is not much, but at least it is a start. I cannot wait to get into all of the planning and picking out new things for our new home. If it will stop raining and dry up maybe they will be able to get some more done soon.

December Daily---day 15

Last night, Katie Lee and Mother went to Virg.'s Christmas party at the Manor. Of course, they all had a grand time. While they were at this party, I was at our annual SSM Christmas party. That is a great bunch of girls. I forgot to take any pictures from the SSM's.

December Daily--Day 14

Tonight we had our school Christmas Party. Katie Lee and I attended. We had wonderful food and company. Sadly, I did not win any of the wonderful door prizes. Maybe next year.

December Daily--Day 13

Saturday night, we took Katie Lee to see the Christmas Lights at the Botanical Gardens. We started our night with supper at Out Back. She was so excited about seeing the lights. Donnie and I had not been in years and they have really expanded since the last time. As soon as we pulled in and paid, I let her sit up in the front with us so she could have a better view. She loved it!! She kept saying wow look at all the lights.

December Daily--Day 11--Cookie Swap

Last night, we had our 3rd annual Smith Girl's Cookie Swap at Mother and Daddy's house. Mother made Taco Soup for supper. While the boys were at work and the ballgame, the girls had fun decorating trees (as seen on Southern Hospitaility) and then swapping cookies. Katie Lee is really getting into all these "girls only" parties.
Mississippi Mud Cookies
Peanut Butter Cookies with a Kiss
M&M cookies
Buttersweets

Buttersweets
1 package of chocolate chip cookie mix
1 package (3oz) cream cheese, soft
3/4 c. confectioner's sugar
1/4 c. maraschino cherries, chopped

Make cookies according to package. When you take them out of the oven, make a deep impression in the center with a spoon. Cook completely.
Meanwhile, mix the cream cheese, sugar, and cherries together. Place a small spoonful in the center of each cookie. Store in the refrigerator.

Katie Lee, I think, tried them all, but loved the M&M's the best.

December Daily- Day 9

Deck the Halls and the Refrigerator.....

I guess since Katie Lee is seeing so many pretty decorations for Christmas around, she decided to do a bit herself. Tonight as I was cleaning up in the back part of the house, she was working away at my desk and was super quiet. After a little bit I decided I should check into what she was up to. I asked her what she was doing and she replied, "working on all of these pretty papers for the frigerator so all my friends can see." Sure enough she had really decked it out.
