Love a Rainy Night

I got home from school today early (on time) for the first time. I picked Katie Lee up from Mother's, went to the drug store, and was home by 4:30. I started supper. Katie Lee and I played until supper was finished, ate, and had the kitchen cleaned back up by 6:30. The rest of the night we just played. I even got the house picked up and clothes washed before Donnie got home. It seemed like tonight went on forever. Unfortunately, Donnie did not get home until 9 and Katie Lee had just fallen asleep. :( What a great night!!!

Just a good day

Saturday was one of those nothing special days which turn out to be the best days. Saturday morning Katie Lee was up by 7 ready to go, so no sleeping in for us. By 8 we had already eaten breakfast and was outside playing. The neighborhood dog, Champ, came over to play. Katie Lee loved playing ball with the DOG. Then the neighbor girls came over. She really thought that was something because they had their bikes.


Later that afternoon, we went to Huntsville with Donnie to cut his uncle's yard. Katie Lee and I played while Donnie worked. Donnie did stop long enough to play in the sprinklers with her. What fun!! Then we finished the night with dinner and a trip to Target. It is great to have a non busy, easy going kind of day.

Saturday Morning

What better way to spend a Saturday mornin than to sit on the couch and read a book.

Happy Birthday Poppie and Uncle Zeb

Last Friday was Zeb's birthday and Poppie's birthday was Tuesday, so Sunday night Mother cooked supper for all of us. She also made each of them their favorite cake. Zeb wanted a carrot cake and Daddy wanted a chocolate layer cake. They were both delicious, and by Tuesday both were gone. Katie Lee loved the chocolate one.

Saturday night

OK I am way behind on this blog. Anyway, Donnie and I had date night Saturday night. We went to a friend's birthday dinner and then to the movies. We really had a good time. Katie Lee stayed with Grammie and Poppie. I think that she had a great time too.

Catch Up

Wow! It sure seems like time is flying and I have not spare time since school started back. Katie Lee is loving staying with Grammie while I work. I think that Grammie is loving her job, too. Poppie seems to be getting home earlier some days too. I wonder why?!?!? I am so thankful that Mother is able to keep

Gifts

Katie Lee got so many wonderful gifts for her birthday!!! Just to name a few ---Grammie and Poppie gave her a red wagon, books, and an outfit. Aunt Kitty and Uncle Zebby made her a doll bed and the bedding for it.

Katie Lee had about 60 friends and family who came to share her special day. Thanks to all of you who came and for all of Katie Lee's new things.

Party Time

Today is Katie Lee's first birthday!! Last night we celebrated with family and friends. Here is what our back yard looked like when it was almost time for the party to start.

And she's off

Katie Lee is WALKING!! She has been trying to for a couple of weeks, and Thursday she took a few steps and then on Friday she took several. Of course, she waited until my first day back at work to start. :) Mother didn't tell me until yesterday after I saw her walk that she walked on Thursday while I was I school. Anyway, way to go Katie Lee!!
