Just a Little Something

Last week was Secretaries Day. We have the best at our school. They really keep it running, and they are so helpful. I wanted to give them a little something to say thanks. I decided that I would bring them lunch. I made chicken salad with crossiants, grape salad, and cookies. I filled mason jars with the food. I sprayed the rings of the jars and covered the lids. I used spring colors for everything. I placed everything they needed for lunch in a cute little basket and it was ready. I thought they turned out cute.

Take Your Child to Work Day

Katie Lee woke up this morning before our alarm goes off. She was so EXCITED that she was getting to go to work with me today for Take Your Child to Work Day. She was so easy to get ready this morning and we were out of the door on time. We took a quick picture together before we left.
She "worked" on the Promethian Board just like Mommy.
We stopped by at the end of the day to tell Mrs. Burton thanks for letting her come to work. Looks like KL had a rough day at work with her hair all a mess. By 10 this morning, she had made friends with a few of my sweet girls in my class who all had pony tails with no bow. Guess who wanted a new hair style even if her hair is not really long enough to stay up?
At lunch she sat with my kids and Makayla who "worked" with her mom rather than going to her class today. They got a special treat of ordering out today from Snappy Tomatoes too.
She had to put her lunch number in to buy her milk just like the other kids.
After lunch it was math time. KL liked working with the girls during Math Workshop time. She loved playing the math games on the IPADS.
At PE time, we got called to the office to be told that we had detention today after school. Mr. Barlow also showed her the cameras that he can watch everything at school.
We did manage to get a few minutes of play time on the playground before the day was over.
Katie Lee said that she had a great day. She was worn out and asleep within 5 minutes of leaving school.

SLOW DOWN

I cannot believe how fast time is going these days. I would like to slow it down a little. Well, the after school and weekend times at least. My little ones are growing and changing way too fast. It makes me so sad that I am not with them everyday all day. Yes, the maternity leave spoiled me and I would LOVE to stay home all the time with them. Anyway, since that is not going to happen unless someone would like to leave a pot of gold on my doorstep, I will just enjoy all the time with them and hope summer comes quickly. Daniel has decided that laying down is not an option anymore because he might miss something. We pulled out his little "chair" over the weekend and he is loving it.

Get Away

This weekend, Donnie and I spent the night in Nashville. This was the first time that we have left Daniel to spend the night with Mother and Daddy except for the weekend we were both sick. I think was the first time since Daniel has been born that we have even been out to eat without a child or two. I am by no mean complaining because I LOVE being with my little ones, but it was nice to have adult conversation over dinner. Our first stop was Marcy Jo's for breakfast. This is a little spot in the road at Exit 46 going toward Chapel Hill. The owner is the sister in law to Joey and Rory. Joey happen to be there eating when we got there. His daughter was our waiteress.
After breakfast we headed to Opry Mills which recently reopened. We shopped for several hours taking our time and looking at everything and spending too much.
Later that night we headed to The Cheesecake Factory for supper and of course a slice of cheesecake. I probably consumed enough WW points for a week in this one day and I loved every bite. Luckily my eyes and stomach are not the same size, so I did not completely go over the top. :)
The best part was coming back home to these two sweet little ones.

Fancy Dinner and a Dance

Thursday night as I am cooking dinner, Katie Lee decides that we needed to have a fancy supper. She wanted to use the fancy dishes from the China cabinet, a tablecloth, and cloth napkins. She sat the table by herself. She also wanted us to all dress in our best. Well, Donnie was not finished working outside so she decided that she would just get all dressed up. She ran to get ready while I was finishing our "fancy" supper and came out in her Sunday best.
After dinner, she thought we should have a dance. She put on her new favorite Jewel CD for kids and danced that night away.
I love how simple the little things in life are that make the best memories.

Daniel's Doctor's Visit

Today Daniel had his 4 month check-up with Dr. Dudley. He had grown so much in the last two months.
Length-- 27 inches 99%+
Weight--14lbs14oz 45%
Head--24 98%

He checked out great and was right on track. She told us that he can begin eating a little food.
She was also pleased with how his breathing is so much better. Bless his heart, he did have to have 3 shots and an oral immunization.

The Hunt

Katie Lee was all excited about hunting for Easter Eggs at Grammie and Poppie's, so she hunted them two different times Sunday.

The little ones with Grammie and Poppie.

Daniel enjoyed his time outside on a quilt.
Katie Lee found all the eggs.
Sunday night after church, we hid eggs again so Langdon could hunt too.
She spotted an egg.
and don't forget the one in the tree.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter from our little family.

Sweetest little ones. I just love them!!

Easter Baskets

Sunday morning, the little ones were treated to Easter Baskets. Katie Lee woke up ready to see what was in her basket. She had to look for them. The dining room is not a room where they usually have gifts. I had the table set for Easter so I thought it would be a cute place to have there gifts.
Katie Lee and Daniel were all smiles when they found their baskets. Katie Lee loved all of her treats especially the Lalaloopsy things.
Daniel liked looking at his books and I am sure he will like the paci and formula.
Hope everyone had a great Easter. More to come.

Medicare, Wagons, and Eggs

Back at Valentine's day Donnie and the littles gave me a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure. I decided to wait until it got warmer to use it. Katie Lee asked if she could go get a medicare and pedicare too. :) Yesterday was our day for the medicare and pedicare. She was so excited.

Here is here finished "medicare and pedicare." She told Uncle Virg about her medicare and pedicare. He just laughed and told her that he had medicare too. Of course, she did not know what he was talking about when she looked at his nails and snarled her nose. HA
Yesterday afternoon, I cut the grass while Donnie worked on the trim. I took Daniel to Mother's and Katie Lee went later. When I walked over to picked them up, I decided that I would pull them back home. This was Daniel's first ride in the wagon. I think he liked it.
We also decorated eggs. I baked the eggs in the oven. I found this on Pinterest and decided to try it. It worked but I am not sure it was any better than just boiling them.

Katie Lee showing off the finished eggs. Rubber gloves were used so the "medicare" would not get messed up.
Our finished eggs.
Up next, lots of Easter.

Good Friday and an Easter Egg Hunt

Luckily, I was off for one of our weather make-up days today. Our Good Friday was a great one.
Daniel is all smiles and giggles these days.

Katie Lee's Preschool had there Easter Egg Hunt at the park today. She had so much fun.

It was very chilly when we got there so I think her teeth were chattering.

Katie Lee and Anna Beth had fun playing together.

She stopped playing long enough to get a picture with me.

Soon it was lunch time. She liked her lunch in her bunny bag and carrot bag of cheese curls.

Daniel was great while we were there too. He was all smiles when the wind died down enough for me to take the covers off of his stroller so he could look around.

Low Key Spring Break... (Lots of Pictures)

YELP, that is what I had planned until Wednesday afternoon when Stephanie and I started talking about the beach. We had joked about how we should just go to the beach. This was about 1:00. Well by 3:30 I had us a place booked and our bags were packed because we were headed to GULF SHORES!!! This is so out of character for me. I like to have a plan and a schedule. According to Donnie, I am not spontaneous. Well, this time I think I proved him wrong. What was I thinking taking two little ones to the beach without Donnie. :) Well Thursday morning, my two little ones, Stephanie, Mary Kaitlyn, Janie(MK's BFF), and I headed 65 south!!

By 3:00 Thursday afternoon, we were relaxing in our room at the beach.
This little cute one was so good on the ride down but was super happy to stretch out on the bed.

This little cute one could not wait to get to the beach.
She also wanted to play in the pool no matter how cold. :)
By supper that night, she was fast asleep before she ate. Luckily she did eat a roll and woke up enough before bed to eat one chicken finger.
These two pretty girls were all excited about being at the beach too.
Daniel all tucked into "bed." This was the perfect spot for him. He slept all night in his little Moses laundry basket.
The next morning Katie Lee and I woke up when I first feed Daniel, so the two of us went down to the beach early. Not many people were there. I loved having this little time with just her. She is just so sweet in how she plays and what she thinks. I wish I could bottle up this innocents and keep her like that forever.
We played in the sand. Made an alligator and
a sea turtle. Well, we tried but could not do like the girl next to us who made these two sand creatures. They were really amazing.
Later we went back up for breakfast and to wake the sleepy heads, and then headed back down to the beach.

Daniel did great at the beach. I had him all tented and he never got in any sun. He would just sleep or watch what was going on around him.
Katie Lee loved sitting and playing in the sand. The ocean was not anything she wanted to play in and I was so glad.
My two beach bums.
I had so much fun with these two. We did miss Daddy a lot and I am thankful for all the help Stephanie and the girls gave. There is no way I would have done this on my own.
The next night we ate at Lamberts. They are famous for their big rolls. It always makes me feel guilty because of all the food that seems to be wasted.
Daniel was very happy while we ate.
After eating, we did a little outlet shopping. We knew that we could not buy much because we had no room to bring anything home, so I of course saw tons of cute clothes.
We also had to do a little souvenir shopping.
Later that night, me and the little ones treated ourselves to ice cream while Stephanie and the big girls did teenager things.
On our last night while Stephanie and the girls were still out, I was getting mine ready for bed. Katie Lee was saying her night time prayers and we were just talking about our day. I asked what her favorite part of the trip was. I figured she would say everything. She always loves everything. I was surprised to hear her answer. "This," she replies. "What do you mean?" She says, "being right here with you and Daniel." Melt my heart!! She is just the sweetest little thing.
Our last day came way too fast, but we were also looking forward to seeing Daddy.
I could not leave without something for our memory box. Daniel and Katie Lee got t-shirts.

Daniel's said, "I survived Spring Break 2012 with 5 girls." Bless his little heart, he did so good to be so little.
My sweet ones. Both of them are so easy. They just go with the flow and are happy with whatever.
Spring Break 2012 Gang.

This was on the way home. We got stuck in two BIG traffic jams. It took us about 9 1/2 hours to get home. Talk about a long day. We were also driving toward bad weather, so maybe we should be thankful for the traffic jams because we ended up missing most of the weather.

We were packed in like sardeens but they all did so well in such a tight place.

Hope everyone else had a great spring break.
